Event Code of Conduct

 

The Bridging the Gap Together! Directors have a responsibility for the actions of its Staff, Contractors and Volunteers who are acting on behalf of the Bridging the Gap Together! should give our Members and funders confidence. All individuals covered by the Code of Conduct need to show integrity; ensure actions are transparent and avoid any suggestion of improper influence. There must be no abuse of authority in our actions. All Directors, Members, Volunteers and stall holders are required to uphold the spirit, as well as the wording, of this Code of Conduct.

Please remember that all our events are organised for Young People, Parents and carers in mind. The Professionals have given up their valuable time to attend our event and make it a success. We would therefore respectfully ask all attendees.

  •   If you are attending our event with a stand as an information point or to sell items you must ensure that you have public liability insurance, that covers your activity. You must produce your public liability insurance certificate upon request, which must show your trading name, date of expiration and the amount covered; on the day or have made it available to us prior to the event so that we may hold a copy for that event. Failure to have an insurance policy in place will result in you not being able to have you stand at the event and will be asked to leave.
  • To listen to the health and safety warning given at the beginning of the event.
  • To respect the views of the lead speaker(s), they have been asked to provide information at the event.
  • To respect the views of other participants.
  • Not to monopolise the speaker. If you need specific questions answered not directly related to the event, request a private consultation with the speaker at the end if they have time.
  • Bullying or antisocial behaviour of any description will not be tolerated, anyone doing so WILL be asked to leave the event. If a fee has been paid NO refund will be issued.
  • The event coordinators decision is and will be final.
  • We are unable to issue refunds should you not attend the event after booking a place. Please only book if you can attend.
  • Should you book a place at one of our paid events and fail to attend your payment will be accepted as a donation towards the cost of that and future events.

  • For your safety, we have First Aiders at our events.
    In an emergency, you agree to them administering emergency First Aid until if necessary the emergency services arrive 
  • The email address you provide at registration will be used to send you your tickets and to make contact with you about future events. We will not share your email address with any other organisation, Unless we are working with other organisations to provide an event, then we will share only with those organisations that are directly involved with that event on the understanding that they will not share your email address and may only use it for information about their events.
